#PRIslanders vs FC Tampa Bay 4/17/2011 2-0 Win
In the second match of the Islanders 2011 NASL season, the troops visited FC Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg FL. The Troops managed a second road win before a good crowd at Al Lang Stadium which included more than 30 Islanders fans that joined our Foreign Legion. The match remained scoreless until the 35th minute when Jonathan Faña scored after an assist from David Foley. Then in the 79th minute Faña scored again this time after an assist from newcomer Gregory Richardson. During the match, goalkeeper Ray Burse was tested a couple of times but the new Islander excelled in stopping Tampa’s shots finishing the game with a clean sheet and a final score of 2-0. The Islanders now head back to Puerto Rico to prepare for the home opener against NSC Minnesota Stars this coming Tuesday April 26.
